10 Items For Your Wedding Survival Kit

10 Wedding Day Survival Kit Must-Haves

Your wedding day will inevitably be unforgettable. But anyone who has planned a wedding knows how much time, stress, and resources go into planning this special event. And it’s every bride and groom’s fear to have anything go wrong on their big day—from the minor mishaps to the larger disasters. And as an Edmonton wedding photographer, I have seen it all!

Thinking about what can go wrong on your wedding day might seem a bit scary, but if you’re prepared, you’ll have nothing to fear! A simple wedding day survival kit will help you navigate the waters and make your day as stress-free as possible. So without further ado, here’s the top ten items you must have in your wedding day survival kit, Alberta wedding photographer approved!

1. Deodorant
You’ll never guess how often this one is forgotten, and can you imagine anything more stressful than being smelly on your wedding day?! A fresh-scented, clear deodorant will be helpful throughout the day but can be especially helpful for re-application after a midday ceremony in the sun or partway through your big dance party.

2. Scissors
A simple pair of scissors can save the day. From fixing florals to snagging that loose thread on your dress, you will never know when they might come in handy!

3. Pain Reliever
From an untimely stress headache to a blister from a new pair of shoes, having some Tylenol or Ibuprofen on hand can alleviate pain for you, your wedding party, or your guests! This is a must-have item for sure.

4. Clear Umbrellas
An extremely rainy wedding day could be any bride’s (and Edmonton wedding videographer’s!) nightmare. But there is a simple fix for even the rainiest days that allows for beautiful, outdoor photos and videos—a clear umbrella. Even if there’s a zero percent chance of rain on your wedding day a week in advance, stock up on some clear plastic umbrellas just in case an unexpected storm rolls in.

5. Fashion Tape and Safety Pins
This one is a no-brainer. These items are a quick fix for any last-minute wardrobe malfunctions.

  1. Benadryl
You would be surprised how often a guest or member of the wedding party ends up allergic to something, especially for those outdoor Edmonton weddings. Some non-drowsy Benadryl can alleviate the allergy symptoms and allow the afflicted party to keep on partying!

7. Sunscreen and Bug Spray
This one is another no-brainer, but for those outdoor summer weddings, do yourselves and your guests a favor but having some extra sunscreen and bug repellant on hand! There’s nothing worse than a nasty sunburn in a beautiful wedding dress.

  1. 8. Granola Bars
Granola bars are the perfect snack to tide you over until cocktail hour—or to bribe the ring bearer with!

9. Bobby Pins
Though your hairstylist will certainly bring bobby pins, there really are never enough to go around once they have left for the day! A pack of bobby pins can help you fix fly-away hairs after too much dancing or perfect your hairstyle before bridal portraits.

10.Lint Roller

You never know who is going to show up with an extra furry suit, so a lint roller can save the day! This is especially helpful in fall and winter weddings, since some coats tend to shed.
